Head of Finance

We are looking for a seasoned Head of Finance to lead our financial operations and strategy, driving reporting, budgeting, and compliance. Working closely with the CFO and executive team, you will optimize processes, manage financial projects, and support expansion into new markets. This role suits a proactive financial leader with FinTech or Big4 experience and a passion for operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Oversee internal and external financial reporting, including bookkeeping, management accounts, statutory filings, VAT returns, and regulatory reporting across group entities.
- Provide guidance on complex transactions and advise on the accounting treatment for new processes and partnerships.
- Manage the preparation and review of consolidated financial reports, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company goals.
- Lead finance-related projects, ensuring milestones are achieved within deadlines and budgets.
- Review and refine accounting processes to support expansion into new jurisdictions and compliance with IFRS standards.
- Manage and mentor the Finance team, conducting performance reviews and providing coaching to enhance team capabilities.
- Communicate project and financial statuses to the executive team and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
- Support the CFO in executing company-wide strategies and achieving commercial objectives.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in FinTech startups, scale-ups, or Big4 firms, in roles like Head of Finance, Group Financial Controller, or mini-CFO.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS standards and experience managing financial reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling, with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and bookkeeping.
- Proven ability to manage finance-related projects, resolving blockers and coordinating with stakeholders.
- Experience overseeing consolidated financial statements and aligning reporting processes with business expansion.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including managing teams, reviewing work, and mentoring staff.
- Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with the executive team and ensuring cross-functional alignment.
